Background

The Audit Committee is a committee of Council which is tasked with the responsibilities as contained in section 155 of the MFMA, one of which is to provide recommendations to the Accounting Officer, Senior Management and Council relating to the adequacy, reliability and accuracy of the financial reporting, governance, compliance and internal controls.
