INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN – 2024-2025

All Municipalities are required to develop a 5 year planning document known as the Integrated Development Plan (IDP). The IDP contains all the plans and projects in the Municipal area that will be implemented in the 5 year plan. It is thus the blueprint for all development within the Municipality. The plan is reviewed annually and community members are invited to participate in the process. This is done via an advertisement in a local newspaper and on the website which outlines the annual Council adopted process for reviewing the budget and IDP known as the IDP & Budget Process Plan. The plan contains meeting dates and outlines periods where the Municipality will interact in its wards. This plan is adopted by the end of August. The reviewed plan and budget, after interaction with municipal residents and sector departments is finally adopted by Council by the end of May of the following year. Residents are urged to interact with their ward committee representative, Ward Councillor or IDP Manager to ensure that they participate in the process.
